Love Can’t Lie --- Free Lyrics and MP3
Sarah Geronimo

Still recall the warmth of the night
try to ease the pain in my heart
and now that your out of sight
tears fall from these eyes

Echoes of my voice slowly die
fears in every corner of my mind
and even if it’s over
still can’t bear with me

[chorus]
How could you go?
how could you say goodbye
it hurts inside, cause by now
still can’t find the reason
why love can’t lie

Knowing that my life is so unkind
so leave my thoughts
and mem’ries behind
but angels brought me to the past
i’m you at lastin you i have found my life
you brought me to the paradise
happiness that i can’t hide
i feel inside

[chorus]
How could you go?
how could you say goodbye
it hurts inside, cause by now
still can’t find the reason
why love can’t lie

[chorus]
How could you go?
how could you say goodbye
it hurts inside, cause by now
still can’t find the reason
why love can’t lie
***
Sorry. MP3 is not available.

How Could You Say You Love Me lyrics
Artist - Sarah Geronimo
Album - Various Songs
Lyrics - How Could You Say You Love Me

You say, that you've always been true
Lookin' in your eyes, I see you lie
You're trying hard to hide that
There someone new you found and,
You want me to believe that you still care

Refrain
How can you hurt me this way
Everything I knew was lovin' you
How could you try pretending
Your love was never ending
Now you can't even say that you will stay

Chorus
How, how could you say you love me
When you would go and leave me
How could you make me hurt so bad
When I have loved you more than anyone can do
Can't believe the pain
That I'm feeling now because of loving you

Refrain
Chorus

Bridge
I can't seem to understand
How can love me so unkind
Still you broke my heart
Despite what I've done

Still my love was not enough
Though I given you my all
I can't take it anymore

Chorus

FOREVER'S NOT ENOUGH MP3 and Lyrics -- For free
Sarah Geronimo MP3 and Lyrics - FOREVER'S NOT ENOUGH

If i would have to live my life again
I'd stay in love with you the way I've been
Your love is something no one ever can replace
I can't imagine life with someone else

I promise, I will share my life with you
Forever may not be enough it's true
My heart is filled with so much love I feel for you
No words can say how much I love you so

*And if forever's not enough for me to love you
I'd spent another lifetime baby,if you ask me to
There's nothing i won't do
Forever's not enough to love you so

The say tomorrow seems so far away
And now we see that everything can change
My love for you gets stronger as tomorrow comes
I know this love will stand in test of time

(Repeat*)

Coda:
For you, there's nothing I can't do
And never will i ever go
Forever's not enough to love you so
But if forever is one day
I promise you I'll stay to show you
That my love for you will never end.

(Repeat * twice)

Worst Week for American Idol

filed under: American idol

It was horrible. Watching the show this week made me think I could probably become an American Idol (although that is impossible given the present situation) if you look at how the 10 finalists chose their song pieces and how they rendered it live. I agree how America voted that Lisa Tucker should leave this week. She had lots of off notes that she obviously murdered the song and her rendition was never at par with Kelly.

Wake up contestants! There are hundreds of songs to choose from. Your favorite song may not perfectly showcase what you do best. So be careful next time.

Katharine is beautiful and sexy but she has to go beyond the sexy look and must prove to the public that she's more than just that. She has a nice voice but should be cautious in selecting the right song.

I think Bucky has to go next!

Cebu Waste Management

Tuesday, March 28, 2006

filed under: public office

GREEN plus RED equals Waste Management. Finally, there is an effort from the local government to segregate solid wastes. I have been waiting for this to happen in the city.

I have seen how some countries I've been to in Europe take this endeavor earnestly. I admit the Philippines has a long way to go. But this first step could make the difference. More of these green and red bins around the city please... Posted by Picasa

Van Wilder: Watch full-length movie online for free

National Lampoon's Van Wilder (also known as Van Wilder, Van The Man and Van Wilder: Party Liaison) is a 2002 movie directed by Walt Becker and stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular young philanthropist/party animal.

Plot summary
Van Wilder is an outgoing, friendly, and highly popular student who has been at Coolidge College for seven years. For the past three years he has tried not to graduate, instead spending his time organizing parties and fundraisers, doing charity work, and posing for figure drawing classes. But after seven years with no return, Van Wilder's father decides it is time to cut his losses and stop paying tuition. Instead of leaving, Van decides to find some other way to pay his way through the rest of college.

Meanwhile Gwen Pearson, a star reporter for the student newspaper, is tasked to do an article on him for the front page of the graduation issue. Although that would be extremely important to her, she is rather put off when Van Wilder interprets her attempts to schedule an interview as romantic advances — especially because she already has a boyfriend. Gwen's boyfriend, Richard Bagg, happens to be the president of the student union, and he takes personal offense at Wilder's attempts to steal his girlfriend, leading to a brutal rivalry between Bagg and Wilder.

Watch it here.

Stop Blogging

Thursday, March 23, 2006

Stop blogging? I'm only kidding.

Why do I blog? I could only think of ten reasons for now.

1. There is fun to it.
2. To have an outlet for the persisting writer in me.
3. To know what others think. Their opinions matter.
4. To learn the life of friends who have started blogging these days.
5. To see how weird this world can be.
6. To gain blogger friends through forums and chatrooms.
7. To realize that this information superhighway can be educational and inspirational at the same time.
8. To critic other bloggers.
9. To be known to the blogosphere that I exist and my wild thoughts are not totally wild.
10. To know that others write crazy things about their crazy life.

There are specific blogs that I visit everyday. One of which is owned by someone in the name of loquacious. His writing superb and so natural. He could be amusing, inspirational, educational and all other nice adjectives ending with 'ing' or 'nal'.

I will continue blogging because in this blogosphere, everyone is equal and is reserved a space. Best of luck to all of us bloggers.

V for Vindictive!

Sunday, March 19, 2006

filed under: lifestyle

Vindictively vague. V for Vendetta, the movie, is somewhat unclear of what message it conveys to the movie watchers as they go out of the theater. In my case, I had much to think about and discuss with friends.

It's obvious the film has partiality over V and his efforts which directs the audience to give preferentiality to. What I hate to realize is its endeavor to convince the public that terrorism acts could be justified and a terrorist could be a contemporary idol. But few reviews said the movie will probably be this year's most misunderstood.

Definitely, the film is more of ideas than actions. It portrays the likelihood of the government to become totalitarian that could lash out its populace to an arrogant declaration that no single soul could threaten its authority. The film has this to say "People should not be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their people".

This film could be an "inspiration" for countries under a heavy political insurgency. But the question will always be "would the end justifies the means?".

My final rating: 2Vs --- for Vindictively Vague.

Biomass as a Renewable Energy Source

Friday, March 17, 2006

The study will explore the advantages and disadvantages of energy from biomass.

The advantages include the flexibility of biomass as a fuel. Co-firing can take place with very little infrastructure investment. Alternative materials can be used in place of short rotation crops (SRC) or domestic woody crops until crops reach maturity. Also there are potential benefits to the agricultural community in providing a new cash crop, environmental benefits through the provision of valuable habitats, the potential to use coppiced areas for sewage treatment, and, of course, the benefits common to all renewable energy sources.

Concerns about the environmental consequences of growing energy crops and emissions from biomass energy plants need to be addressed and the carbon lifecycle examined. Competition for alternative, short-term sources of energy can be contentious and the wider market will need to be examined. We will also be assessing the impact on other industries dependent on forestry materials, the possible need to import biomass to fuel co-fired plants, and the energy balance involved in long-distance transportation of biomass for fuel. Public concerns about the large-scale cultivation and use of energy crops, for example fears about impacts on traditional farming, the landscape and air quality, will be explored and ways of incorporating them into renewable energy policies will be considered.

The study will address the wider implications for biomass schemes; for example, biomass-fuelled plants do not only use woody materials but can also play a role in waste management. CHP plants can co-fire biomass with solid waste, and some agricultural wastes can be used as fuel. These options will be explored as components of the biofuel process, but the study will not cover energy from waste in general.

Romantic Poem: Dream Me Not

Dream Me Not
(by:Eric Ariel L. Salas)

Dreams will fade
Like the rose that loses color
Thinking of me today is impermanent
Thoughts will not last forever.

Do not dream of me
Nor caress me in your arms
Cast me away from your reverie
Do not be deceived by my charm.

I am for your eyes only
To see and behold
To behold minus dreaming
To see minus bewitching.
Words are painful to speak,
Promises easy to break
Thus this admonition is for you
I was me, I am me, you should know.

Hurting you is not my intention
Give up your imaginings, move on.
Amiable you are, a person who’s free
There is more in the world than just me.

You are YOU not because I am
You are YOU because you are
You dream yours not mine –
Mine are often thorny, mostly far.

I do not believe in dreams; it fades
Like the rose that loses color
Thinking is impermanent
Thoughts may not last forever.

The Joy in Giving --- Praise to the German Volunteers!

Tuesday, March 14, 2006

filed under: inspirational article

After a year since he left for Germany, Nico is back!

Last year, I wrote an article about him, Carmen and Tanya -- German nationals whose work I personally praise! Read on:

-----------
How to live life happily? Most often, I’d get suggestions like: make a contribution by working hard in a work you love; be in the know and intelligent; gather a surplus; love your family above your friends, your cellphone, your dog, your career; and progress in the firm and gain high title and salary, stock options, benefits. Everyone I know agrees: this is life’s joy.

However, happiness is not at all about being paid, or living in luxury, or getting wealthy, or having a blue-collar job and finding a partner. Lately, I became more convinced that happiness goes beyond any human reason.

Convincing took place in a more unanticipated way. I met Carmen, a German national who came to Cebu to complete a study on the city’s garbage condition. Visiting garbage dumpsites almost everyday on her three-month stay, the research goal was just as noble as her. She is a dainty lady whom I thought had already been endowed with a life so uncomplicated and painless in her home country in Europe, yet here, chose to work in a place we locals detest to be in.

All Carmen wanted was to give a little part of her. Residents in the dumpsite loved her gradually. As she developed in herself a love for the children scavengers, the desire to help grew more. She spent significant time nourishing them, taking them to leisure parks whenever she had the chance. Even during holidays, she was with the children.

However, Carmen is now in Germany. She promised to be back and become a full-time volunteer.

Nico is another German national whose big heart goes for the needy. He is extending his hands to the child prostitutes who were rescued from the dangerous, exploitive bars in the city. Housed in a private Center – its maintenance rests mainly on donations from kind hearts – Nico attempts every effort to keep the children away from the job they were only forced to do.

With positive insights, Nico constantly lifts the broken spirits of these children through openness and realization that there is more to life than just the short-time shifts they get from the streets. With him and a couple of caretakers, they were able to generate additional meager source of revenue by selling homemade pastries. This, they have to do to at least send the children to school. At the moment, their finances could only provide for the schooling of three children.

I had visited the Center myself and saw society naked in truth. I had the chance as well to meet Tanya, one of the founders of the Center. When she started it with another German volunteer, she encountered much impossibility, like sustenance! She said she has to gather donations (in thousands Euro) for the yearly provisions. Further, she told me with conviction that she would never stop supporting the Center.

True, the Center needs aid in every way to go on with this praiseworthy goal.

A gift to see people. That is what Carmen, Nico and Tanya have. They are generous givers living with an eternal perspective and experiencing completely every joy there is in giving. For them it does not feel like a burden but a pleasure. Unconcerned with how much they own, they favor giving over getting. The driving motivation: not self-concern but love for others!

I was touched by their persistence and desire.

In this moment in time when I see hungry people more and more – children hunting food in garbage stacks, teens making money selling their reputation – it is not true, what others declare, that as an individual I, or we for that matter, cannot help them. There are a number of ways a would-be giver can do. Most of the time, it only takes the first step to start the ball rolling.

In finality, giving is not merely a ritual or a habit we should do out of pity but an act made up of sincere love. Albeit it is hard to change current motivation overnight, hence we hope and pray for courage to unlearn it and keep a new, inspiring one in place. Then we would add it to our list of life’s joys.

If Carmen, Nico, Tanya and the rest of the kind-hearted volunteers from Germany, Austria and France enjoyed it, there is no reason for us not to see the joy in sharing and to develop the grace to perform a worthy purpose.

Graduates or Graduators?

Monday, March 13, 2006

filed under: others

Which of the two sentences is correctly written?

1. She was graduated from Yale in 1998.
2. She graduated from Yale in 1998.

As the graduation exercise nears for my Civil Engineering students, the frantic faces are becoming so obvious. It is understandable for them to worry, however. For one, there are still loads of requirements to complete in major subjects with barely a week left before classes end. Second, passing the minor subjects seems to be easier said than done, especially at this taxing situation. Third, other professors (yes, count me out) are doing the usual extermination process of “only the deserving gets it”. Fourth, they worry because with the sheer excitement to graduate after five long years, to fail in this last thrust might become so heavy they could not contend with it.

For them, it is my only hope that they'd make it to graduation day. After all, they have been good students all these years and they merit a reward for every single hardship survived and a responsibility well done.

Back to the question, "Which of the two sentences is correctly written?".

1. She was graduated from Yale in 1998.
2. She graduated from Yale in 1998.

Answer: Both are correct.

She was graduated from Yale in 1998. Old-fashioned but the use is still current. 78% of the Usage Panel accepts it.

She graduated from Yale in 1998. More recent active pattern (first attested in 1807). 89% of the Panel accepts this use.

Graduator? It is a noun and others use it. Take your pick!

Saint Ange -- a worst movie!

Sunday, March 12, 2006

filed under: lifestyle

This is the worst horror movie I have seen so far. The scenes they claim are scary didn't even create a little shiver on my spine. What a waste of time spent watching it!

The storyline is confusing! You do not know what the point of the director is and how he managed to understand even his own film. Do not watch this movie nor buy a DVD copy!

JUNK the ROTC!

Tuesday, March 07, 2006

filed under: inspirational article, others

Cruel. Intensely cruel. That was how I viewed the Reserved Officer Training Corps (ROTC) in the Philippines many years ago. However, that view hasn’t changed a bit even to this day.

ROTC prides itself with a mission to educate and develop college students in the rudiments of military service and produce capable Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) reservists. To that I would say that educating the college students is a hard job. Producing capable reservists is a dream.

These ROTC officers cannot just elbow anyone to submit to rigid military training. They could punish the body, never the mind. They could require you to perform 20 push-ups. Or run the oval 50 times. They could injure probably your legs and/or arms. But in no way they can convince the mind to think it is discipline and civilian values ROTC is intended for.

The officers are no less than those individuals whose longing to be in the military has been clouded by the greed, vengeance, incompetence and scam. ROTC program is being kept thriving less for the sake of the country’s defense than to line the pockets of corrupt officials. Everyone would agree that a lot of loose change circumnavigate the parade grounds during and after drills.

Military training integrated as a requirement in the curriculum is pure waste of time and energy. If might not be true for other countries like the US, but in the Philippines, it is truer than true. What else could you do to the rest of your Sunday afternoon after an exhausting ROTC drill in the morning? Two things. Either you take a good rest and forget the exam the next day or you wish to have the power to vanquish your platoon commander and send him to hell. Between the two, the latter is most likely to transpire for the gloom of a lost weekend.

Lately, the issue of reinstating ROTC to the curriculum is making waves again after its abolition 2 or 3 years back. High-ranking officials are sending signals of the likelihood of its coming following the dramatic junta last month. (What the heck!) Their argument is that the country needs more disciplined civilians and AFP reservists.

There is no need to restore ROTC. At present, students can volunteer for civic action and law enforcement programs, like the National Service Training Program (NSTP). Instead of doing the drills on weekends, students can join any of the two components:

1. Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) – programs or activities contributory to the general welfare and the betterment of life for the members of the community or the enhancement of its facilities, especially those devoted to improving health, education, environment, entrepreneurship, safety, recreation and morals of the citizenry.

2. Literacy Training Service (LTS) – designed to train students to become teachers of literacy and numeracy skills to school children, out of school youth, and other segments of society in need of their service.

What is best about the programs is that, everyone, male or female, enrolled in any baccalaureate or of at least two year technical/vocational courses are required to complete the equivalent of two semesters of any one of the NSTP components. Now that is fair service.

And that sounds for me like a sensible compromise. I have heard countless positive feedbacks from students under the NSTP programs. That must not be stopped! The return of ROTC – JUNK IT!

Public Office in my Mind

filed under: public office, inspirational article

Becoming a public official is a no ambition of mine. Public dealing or more appropriately, politics, is a crazy, dirty business that I do not want myself get parceled up. So to be in a degree relating to public administration is in a manner, shocking, if not, terrible. Add to that the possibility of finishing the degree in May 2006 only makes things more complicated. But whoever possesses a good reason to its complexity, rather than just say I do not have anything to do in life, would really believe I would run for public office sooner.

I will not.

I have classmates who hold high positions in government agencies or state universities. More others are eyeing supervisory posts in Local Government Units (LGU). They represent the faction that defies the declaration that only the young minds have the license to learning and expanding their careers. With age of 40-something, they always demonstrate that experience is the best teacher and wisdom teaches them how to excel well – in whatever they do.

There was a single reason why I decided to register for this Doctoral degree. Wait for May 2006 when I get my diploma...if you are a regular reader of this blogspace, chances are, you'll know it first or YOU'LL KNOW IT FIRST.

Ora et labora: Prayer and Work

Sunday, March 05, 2006

filed under: inspirational article

"For many of us, labour has become our existence. People see us on our feet frequently moving, or more appropriately running, like there is someone catching us up from behind. We become more of pursuers than just plain dreamers. More often than not, we were reminded by friends to take an hour off on a Sunday afternoon to chill out from a tough week of pure working."

I am a true believer of WORK + PRAYER. When I wrote the article for Sun-Star Weekend, I knew from the start it would be sort of uplifting. It was Saturday and I was doing my regular activity at Cebu Normal University when Maam Linda, a school principal from Leyte, approached me from behind, tapped my shoulders lightly and said how blessed I was to be able to touch people through my creative ideas and writing ability. I told her with a smile, "I didn't only create it Madam, I also felt it".

That is the beauty I see in this talent. It is only when I feel the urge to write, because I have the strong conviction the topic will run smoothly in my mind and that one line of thought would lead to another, that I spend time writing and thinking and feeling how the article be embraced by my readers. Feeling, is a requirement of every piece. I need an emotion in order to write.

Honestly, I cannot even believe myself that I could be persuasive in my writings most of the time. Yesterday, I purposely read my very first article published in a local magazine. Gully! I would have gone to protest had it not seen a light for publication. It was damn good! I admit it took me more than a month to arrive with the final draft, written manually, with pen and paper. MSWord was not yet preferred during that time or had not invaded yet every writer's desk. The efforts, the time spent -- I was rewarded altogether.

This is a talent I have. But I do not own it myself. I always give back to God the credit. Each time I pray, I pray as well for every reader of this blog.

Exorcism of Emily Rose: Full-length Movie

Wednesday, March 01, 2006

The Exorcism of Emily Rose is a 2005 horror/thriller film directed by Scott Derrickson. The film is based on the true story of Anneliese Michel, a young Catholic woman from Germany who died in 1976 after unsuccessful attempts to cure her from the alleged state of demonic possession with the means of psychotropic drugs. Also, church-approved exorcism was performed on her, according to her wish. According to the court, her death was caused by medical neglect at the wishes of the priest watching over her. The story of her short life, strong faith and exhausting struggle with what seemed to be supernatural powers served as the basis for this horror movie. The screenplay was written by Scott Derrickson and Paul Harris Boardman. Many viewers saw the film as a courtroom drama that was marketed as a horror film, and it was largely dismissed by critics who were expecting a more terrifying experience.

In an extremely rare decision, the Catholic Church officially recognized the demonic possession of the 19 year-old college freshman. Told in flashbacks, The Exorcism of Emily Rose chronicles the haunting trial of the priest accused of negligence resulting in the death of the young girl who is believed to be possessed and the lawyer who takes on the task of defending him.

Enjoy the addiction!

filed under: inspirational article, lifestyle

As of this writing, my sister is busy talking with her American boyfriend via yahoo messenger. Look what technology can do to a long distance relationship! It is not easy to maintain the relationship [refer to my previous post] but this free service from yahoo makes everything so easy for the two. I do not know how much is Yahoo earning from such offering. One thing is certain though, many have seen the good side of it, including my sister and her far away BF.

I am stuck here in this cafe and thinking how much coffee or tea will I need tonight to get away with this aloneness. I cannot understandwhat has become of this being inside of me that aloneness could almost always mean a trip to my favorite coffee bar. It is not addiction, oh please!

The condition of being habitually or compulsively occupied with or involved in something is addiction, as defined by some authors. Then in that case, I am not compulsively occupied with coffee. Yippee! an addict I am not. Strictly taking everything into consideration, however, probably I am. No. Not with coffee, but with this WWW thing.

You see I spent most of my time writing daily in the 5 blogs that I maintain. I do not get anything from it (not financially as I would have liked to) aside from the sole satisfaction that only myself could enjoy. If that is addiction, let it be. Call me a blog addict -- an addict who never tires to do his 'legal' job. I never get tired even at some evenings that I found myself enjoying the entries and comments I get from readers. Thanks to them, though, they make me love my addiction more.

Whether I am a blog addict or not, the fact that many are touched by the heart-warming articles resulting from such addiction, that is what counts. This blogging technology is giving me fun time, just as my sister is too with her Yahoo voice chat!

It's more than 1 hour since my sis started chatting. It is more than 1 hour of addiction to YM.

I already smell the aroma of the coffee brew. Got to go!

Since it is the first day of the month, I would like to start with an entry recapping the big events that happened last month.

1. Deadly Landslide in the Central Island of Leyte
The civil defense office said 434 people survived the disaster, including 19 who sustained injuries. The last survivors were pulled from the muck within hours of the tragedy and the 415 others were away from the village at the time.

2. Philippines arrests senior military officer for anti-Arroyo activities
The Philippines military detained a brigadier general for allegedly plotting against President Gloria Arroyo, armed forces chief of staff General Generoso Senga said.

3. Philippine leader declares state of national emergency
Philippine President Gloria Arroyo has proclaimed a state of national emergency after arresting key military officers for an alleged plot to topple her government.

4. Deadly ULTRA Stampede
The Ultra stampede on February 4, which happened during “Wowowee” anniversary celebration, killed 74 people and injured hundreds of others.

These are all I could recall. It seems other events, the peso maintaining its strength against the dollar for instance, were not significant at all.

February 2006 was deadly. The Filipinos will remember the month for its wrath and sorrow and never for whatever bliss -- at least for the next 5-10 years. Or be like the EDSA revolution that has become a fuzzy memory of the past.
