Best background color for blog?
Monday, March 10, 2008
Do you think there is a color that is best as a background for blogs?
The answer is No and Yes. No, because there are so many nice colors that can transform your blogs to a look that you want. Yes, because you must limit your choices to light colors. Strong colors can be a total bother when used them as back drop. Light colors can bring a "cool" feeling to your blog.
Usually, if you visit pro-blogs, you will notice that majority of them use "white" as a background color. White is the universal color for blog/website back drops. It is easy on the eyes. Other colors make you feel sleepy or make your eyes itchy. Have you tried earth colors [colors like those of soil or earth, brownish-reds and browns]? They are a good choice too.
If you want to blend your own background color to somehow go with the tints on your blog in general, there are two color scheme sites that I can recommend.
1. visibone.com - Point-and-click color scheming at its easiest
2. www.snook.ca - Colour Contrast Check Tool allows to specify a foreground and a background colour and determine if they provide enough of a contrast "when viewed by someone having color deficits or when viewed on a black and white screen"
Enjoy blending!
