Tubbataha Reef for the New 7 Wonders of Nature!
Wednesday, April 23, 2008
After the new Seven Wonders of the World were decided last year, another campaign is organized by the non-profit New7Wonders Foundation -- to choose the New 7 Wonders of Nature!
I am requesting every Filipino (or anyone with a Filipino heart) to visit the site. Why? I want us to unite to bring our very own nature wonder, the Tubbataha Reef, to the top of the hundreds of nominees from around the world. When I checked it this morning, the Tubbataha Reef placed at no.9. This evening, it rose to no.7.
The New7Wonders of Nature Panel of Experts will select the 21 finalist candidates from the top 77 official nominees. We have until December 2008 to vote.
Visit the site here and vote. The live tally is updated twice a day.

The atolls are separated by a deep channel 8 kilometers wide. Over one thousand species, including many that are endangered, can be found at on the reef.
