Jealousy in the Filipino blogging community

Why would few Filipino bloggers be jealous of other Pinoy bloggers' successes? I really couldn't understand the pungency of some when they see that a blogger is in front of the pack.
Instead of supporting each other so all will arrive finally happy and fulfilled as bloggers and make the Filipino blogging community known to the blogosphere, few bitchy souls will pull the leader down and enjoy a great deal of crab mentality.
If one is on top of a particular Philippine blog ranking site, congratulate the blogger, rather than finding ways to destroy the blogger's reputation and making issues out of nowhere.
I was a victim of this hateful tactics before. She started the issue by spamming my chatbox with repeated accusations about the perfectly okay/legal strategy I am using to attract traffic to my blog. She questioned the volume of my traffic and challenged me to reveal my stats. When I announced the launching of a new blog game, she was present to criticize it and tried to skin me alive with her pangs of animosity. She has the evil eye to destroy everyone she intends to.
In those times, I remained calm. The fact that I wasn't doing anything wrong was enough to keep my composure intact. I didn't reply to her squawks and waited for the "pest" to finally get her Saigon moments! Oh yeah, after few days, she did!
While she was in the process of destroying my name, I had the best time tracing her IP address. That's why I know she's a SHE (based on the name of her blog). Despite what she had done to me, I still didn't ban her IP address from visiting my blog or posting messages in my tagboard. That is how forbearing I am.
We are all Filipino bloggers, we should not pull each other's legs down. Rather, we should help push whoever is on top and then hope they will pull us up too in the future. It is all about alliance. Blogging is about alliance.

can i know who this girl you are referring to? even by private message? i've always wanted to blog, i mean really blog and i find your site quite helpful, your tone very friendly. i have a "blog" that i maintain containing ebooks. http://ebookeesh.blogspot.com, but it's not really a blog but more of a download site. i have a lot of ideas floating that i want to discuss about but time constraints and the uneasiness with the written word (plus a healthy doze of "later siguro" mindset) keeps me from starting a true blog.

I salute you for your calmness in that situation. You are right, people gets jealous and find nothing better to do but bad mouth others. Human nature? I don't thinks so I guess it is more of uneducated ill-mannered irrate nasty b and itch ... I have more words but don't want to be censored he he he... well, I really could not complain first and foremost I think your site gives newbies a chance to at least exist in the world of blogosphere. It's really a sad know that there are people who will to pull you down because of jealousy.And what's more sadder is the fact that some of those people are not even a rival of yours,they just want to pull you down.just as you said,"utak talangka"

well, you know the adage in Filipino - 'pinupukol ang punong madami ang bunga'. and it's very common talaga sa mga pinoy to pull someone down who is at the top kahit walang ginagawa sa kanila. just to create a scene.

Just let her JEALOUSY kill her, sge deserve it. I am one of the victim of those situation, it happened about a week ago. I wont` even consider them a human being. they are mentally ill creature and if they having nothing else to do for themselves, they should go to the shrink and Disappear on this earth. Kudos to you for being successful! I agree everything of what you wrote here!

Jealousy? Gosh that is freaking you know..I mean I experience such thing even if I don't have traffic like yours! Talksmart, who is she? Hahahahaha. It is very simple they get jealous to the people who are clearly above them. Definitely you are a very successful blogger and of course there are loads of gossiper around who are gathers along to try pulling you down, but what they didn't know is that they won't never succeed.

well the filipinos is being aware of the growing numbers of blogs in the philippines wanting to be a part of the pinoy community they too are really creating blogs to be known.

I don't consider it a way of pulling me down. It might be her technique for her blog to be noticed by other bloggers. It's just an strategy.
