How to put comment form under the post
Tuesday, July 08, 2008
For blogspot bloggers, it was once a problem. We once thought of having a comment box under every of our blogspot post just like in we see in Wordpress. We wished for comment codes or blogger hacks to do it.
Having a comment form just below the post gives ease to anyone who would want to leave a note or to react to your post. Instead of going through the hassle of more clicking and pop-up window appearing, Blogger has heard the cries of blogspot users and came up with a new feature: Embedded Comment Form. The feature puts the comment form where your readers expect it: at the bottom of the post.
To turn on the embedded comment form, you need to log in to http://draft.blogger.com/ (not the usual blogger.com) and go to Settings > Comments for your blog. You’ll see that the “Show comments in a popup window?” setting has been replaced with the new “Comment Form Placement” setting. Choose “Embedded below post,” save your settings, and you are ready to check and see your new comment form.
Blogger also notes that the embedded comment form also works with Blogger Classic templates. However, you might encounter problems if you don't have this tag on your classic template: <$BlogItemCreate$>. This tag is responsible for adding the right "comment form HTML" to your page. If you don't have this, you need to do a little tweaking. I did it in few of my blogs and it worked.
Leave me a comment if you have problems implementing it. I might have answers.

parang nagwowork lang ito sa mga old templates tulad nito... sa mga customize newer templates na bagong gawa na inoofer ng ilang mga website designer ay hindi po sya gumagana... i wonder kung magagawan nyo pa ng paraan ito...

Yatot~~Good that you finally made it work. I think the new feature applies to any template. If it does not, there are always ways to pluck it to work. -- just like what you did :-)

Park~it should work. Do you see the comment box at the bottom of the post already?
